- Products to be painted or coated receive a special pre-treatment to guarantee good adhesion and improve corrosion protection.
- Steel products which are cold formed (deep drawing) will receive a special phosphate layer to absorb the lubricating film and to avoid the contact of steel on steel (anti galling).
- Products that have to 'wear in' (gears etc.) are provided with a special phosphate layer to improve the so called sliding properties.
- Products that are not painted but need a high corrosion resistance have to be equipped with a special phosphate layer that also holds oil- and waxfilms that are applied as post-treatment (eg nuts, bolts, engine parts, (leaf) springs, etc.)
